Contra-flow traffic on Highway 40 in Baie-D'Urfé and Kirkland as of Saturday, May 27, 2023
Category : Info-worksThe ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform road users of the complete closure of the eastbound lane of Highway 40 between the Morgan Boulevard sector in Baie-D'Urfé and the entrance from Saint-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland. Traffic will be diverted westbound as of Saturday, May 27, at 8:00 a.m.
These measures are part of a construction project aimed at the reconstruction of the concrete pavement of Highway 40 eastbound, between Lee Avenue in Baie-D'Urfé, and Saint-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland.
In order to mitigate the impact on road users, dynamic traffic management will allow three lanes of traffic to be maintained in the peak direction, and two lanes in the opposite direction. This scenario will be in place until December.
Impediments
- Speed will be reduced throughout the construction site.
- On Highway 40 eastbound, road users bound for Exits #49 - Ch. Ste-Marie or #50 - Boul. Saint-Charles, will be able to access their destination through a marked corridor from exit #44 - Boul. Morgan.
- To minimize the noise generated by the ongoing construction, a temporary noise barrier will be installed between Gérard-Guindon Street and Chemin Sainte-Marie.
