Hydro-Québec, in collaboration with its contractor GTEK, is currently carrying out work on the service road on both sides of the entrance located on Rue Frédéric-Back.

The work began on July 9, 2026, and is expected to continue for approximately 35 business days.

We would like to inform you that work on the crosswalk will begin on Monday, August 3. Please note that access to Rue Frédéric-Back from the service road will be closed for the duration of this work.

Traffic signs and flaggers will be present at the construction site to ensure the safety of workers and the public and to direct traffic.

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances that arose during road cutting work, traffic adjustments are necessary at the Laboratoire de santé publique du Québec.

As a reminder, the work involves, among other things, the installation of a new water supply system to provide water to the fire protection network. 

• Construction has been underway since July 13, 2026;
• The work is taking place at the Laboratoire de santé publique du Québec, located at 20045 Chemin Sainte-Marie ;
• The work is being carried out by the contractor St-Denis Thompson Inc.

The following measures will remain in effect:

• Traffic will continue to flow in the opposite direction, regulated by temporary traffic lights, through July 31, 2026;
• Paving work has been postponed to a later date. Additional information will be provided during the week of August 3, 2026.

As part of the framework contract for the maintenance of underground civil infrastructure, Hydro-Québec will be performing electrical work at Square Bellevue from January 6 through October 2026, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

• The area affected by the work extends over 1.3 km, from 307 Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants towards the A-40 East ramp, passing through rue Poultry Cottages;
• The right lane northbound on rue des Anciens-Combattants will be closed along the entire length of the work zone;
• Construction signage, including visual markers and traffic signs, will be installed to inform and guide users;
• One lane will remain open, with a width of 3.5 meters.

Here is the current status of the three phases:  

• Through mid-June: Phases 2 and 3 will remain closed;
• From mid-June to mid-August: Phases 1, 2, and 3 will be closed simultaneously;
• From mid-August to early October: Phase 1 will be closed only.
