Water Meter and Water Tax

Indoor reading - water meter

The Municipal Council has mandated “Compteurs d’eau du Québec” to proceed with indoor reading of all water meters in the City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. A representative with a City ID card will visit all residences and businesses to read water meters.

Visits will be held IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER:

  • Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Section 83 of By-law 784 concerning the administration of the sewer and aqueduct service provides, in particular, that a municipal officer or any authorized person may read meters during the period determined in that by-law. Refusal to give access to this person may give rise to infractions and penalties.

If you do not live in the property, please inform your tenant or make the necessary arrangements with Compteurs d’eau du Québec at (514) 942-1882 to give them access to the water meter.

For any question or information, please contact Mrs. Isabelle Paiement at the Treasury Department by phone at 514-457-7554 or by email at ipaiement@sadb.qc.ca

New water use billing rates

The City Council adopted new water use billing rates according to the user-pay principle. These new rates aim to reward users who control their consumption of drinking water.

Base rates : Residential : $ 20  |  Non residential : $ 40

Rate per m3

1 to 100:

101 to 200 :

201 to 300 :

Thus, even with an access rate of $ 20 for residential and $ 40 for non residential, it is possible for useers to save money on their water tax bill when compared with previous years.
