One Birth, One Tree

The Town of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is proud to welcome the arrival of a child by offering a tree to his/her family.. This program is for families who have adopted or given birth to a child in 2011 in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

By accepting this gift, new parents will contribute to the history of the community, in addition to beautifying our living environment and provide a healthier environment for future generations.

The tree will be planted on the property of the family or in a public place in town. Parents can choose from a selection of tree species, selected by the Town. The species are white pine (Pinus strobus), red oak (Quercus rubra), white oak (Quercus Alba), or Pear (variety to be determined). The tree will be presented on Ecology Day, held every year in September, and will be accompanied by a guide providing useful information about the chosen tree, how to plant, its maintenance and the regulations in force in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Parents can plant their own trees and use this time to reunite with their family.

In addition, the birth will be recognized on an official certificate, signed by the mayor, identifying the species of tree and where the tree was planted.
